This is what I hate the MOST about religious people. Their persecution complex. Oh no, you're only 99% of the world's population. Poor you. NO ONE is tolerant of you.

And this is what I hate the most about atheists. Their assumption that most religious people are like this instead of the obnoxious minority and their apparent refusal to believe there are religious people who really don't give a shit if you don't follow the same things they do.

Congratulations. You've actually come close to my point, so I'll give you the cookie anyway.

I'm basically saying that neither side is better than the other, but so many people are so fixated on their own opinions that they think everyone on the opposite side as them is a bunch of crackpots who live to oppress their own side. Except not everyone goes along with a mob mentality, so it's rather silly to say that every religious person whines about being persecuted or that every atheist jumps to the conclusion that every religious person is a nutjob. Also, it's rather counterproductive to see people as anything but people if you want to be considered a mature, open-minded individual.

tl;dr: Yes. Intentionally so.
