I liked him only a little more than I liked Denny. Thus, I was happy when he died.

Ha! And here I thought I was the only person who disliked both George and Denny. Nice to know I'm not alone after all. :D

I was the girl who showed up to school the next day, while all her friends were crying over how cute and great Denny was, and yelled "WHY WON'T HE DIE ALREADY? HE HAS A HEART PROBLEM, SO YOU KNOW HE WON'T LIVE. JUST DIE!"
Unsurprisingly, no one would watch the show with me.

I've a pretty terrible mind for faces and as a result, I was very dismayed when it was pointed out to me that John Winchester (who I loved) was played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, a.k.a., Denny (who I really, really disliked).

Denny was just too bland for me to get into and I never felt the passion between him and Izzie. I had no issues at all when he died and wasn't exactly thrilled when he came back.

Needless to say, my take on this wasn't the most popular either.

God, me too. Even though I did stop watching the show around the time things started getting utterly stupid (a little after the George/Izzie debacle). He started off as the sweetest character and I always pulled for him.

I'll admit, I lost all interest in or even affection towards George after he tried to guilt Meredith into sleeping with him (and then took off when she started to cry). I've no interest in that kind of stereotypical Nice Guy behavior and it was only made worse with how he treated Callie and when he said that he'd only gone with her because he'd never thought a girl as pretty as Izzie could like him.

But despite all of that, I didn't like how his storyline ended. It felt pointless and abrupt and maybe that was the point after all, that death could come out of nowhere and strike without warning, but it still came across to me as needless drama for drama's sake. I'd have far preferred that he went off and became a field medic for the armed forces as he'd planned originally.

So do I! Ugh, that whole thing was handled SO badly, and I blame Shonda Rhimes all the way. She fills me with moderately stabby rage.

Guh. I agree. I stopped watching Grey's around when Meredith died/came back to life in S3 cos, by that point, it had strayed to far from the show I initially loved. Having heard in passing about George's death, I set out to watch the episode about a year after the fact. Despite emotional detachment from the show and the characters, I was a sobbing wreck for over a day.

Me too, OP. While I think this season has been great, I still think it's missing a little something without him. Izzie, on the other hand...
