I just came here to say, how much I loved Karkat's face in that one page.

I was all like "NOOOOOO!! Karkat, what are you doing?! Your the leader, do some--*click to next page, see reaction* Oh lollercoaster". And then I couldn't stay mad at the dude anymore.

Hey I did that--for like 5 seconds! lol

It's just that the the dude talked big when it came to being the leader and whatnot and to some extent he did show leadership--he got shit done, so people expecting him to do something is not that unrealistic in the context of his character. However, then I thought about it and of how he'd never faced anything like that before and of how in the end he's just a troll child and nothing more, so it was a reasonable reaction.

Yeah, after all he is just a kid, and shows himself to be an incompetant or ineffectual leader quite a few times. It's stupid that anyone would expect him to like, suddenly leap into superhero mode and save everyone. Personally I like that with Terezi and Karkat we got to see that, even though they all big themselves up and talk about how they defeated a big bad boss and got some god tiers, the trolls are still just a load of young teens dealing with shit that's way over their heads.

Of course there is an explanation.

The explanation is that Eridan needs to be established as a Bad Guy and women need to die for that to happen.

Hmmmm. I'm normally pretty quick to jump on instances of fridging, but the fact that Homestuck is actually close to a 50/50 split, as well as the deaths of other (male) characters makes me sort of hesitant.

It just feels more like a natural progression than when one of the ONLY women in a series is slaughtered for manly angst time, you know?

Yeah, because Vriska totally didn't get Bro killed, get John killed (even if he came back, like when she got Aradia killed), and just kill Tavros because she's a villain or anything.

Isn't the explanation that Eridan really is a genocidal, trigger-happy, bag of dicks? And that he, being a cruel murderer, cruelly murdered two characters (one of which he decided to provoke to maybe think he was justified). Why would the reason be something so dumb as, "so they can get the god tiers!!!!"

I hate plot armor. And even though Kanaya was one of my favourite characters ever, it'd be ridiculously cheap to just bring her back.

If he does bring them back it will be the worst cop-out ever. And he's smarter than that. I mean, seriously, if he DOES bring them back I'm going to KNOW he's trolling because it's like a giant "FUCK YOU" to the fanbase because they got seriously upset over this whole thing.

Kanaya and Feferi were pretty much my favorites (besides Nepeta oh goddd) but I will probably facepalm forever if he brings them back.

And then keep reading, because oh god I will have to see why.


...that said I would love Sollux and Karkat to go hunt Eridan down. Assuming Gamzee's not in the horn pile first priority.
