I say not to worry about it so much. A lot of people think of crazy/silly things at school or work that may embarrass them from time to time.

That said, I got into Hetalia slightly before I left school, so I guess I can't say I know how it exactly feels but I did feel silly with myself for thinking of other anime characters and applying them to novels I had to read for class. On the bright side it helped me be more interested, but it still felt silly? Meh. Just look on the bright side of things at least?? lol I think this sort of thing happens to the best of us.

I'm a huge history nerd and I felt like crying when I was able to remember who was part of the Axis powers because of Hetalia. Especially since everyone was impressed that I knew, too. ;_;

Really? I always had difficulty controlling my urge to snicker during world history, after I started reading Hetalia. I was always a history lover, but thinking of the countries in terms of Hetalia characters made me lol a lot

this is kind of offtopic but it suddenly reminded me of how I wish 300 had been out when I was taking Ancient History in high school, because we did a whole unit on Sparta and it would have made it so much more lulzy.

So your history class may as well be "Hetalia 101." Heh! I'm just imagining how that can play out, especially if you ship a few of the countries. :D

Honestly it sounds like a funny way to keep the subject interesting, and also enrich what you know fandom-wise; find out fact from fiction, etc...Learn when to get down to business and switch out of Hetalia mode. So that your grades won't suffer, you won't be dealing with knowledge overlap or mistakes in your assignments.

I took a class called "Hitler's Germany" last semester; before we even got to the Hitler-y stuff, we went into how Germany went from Prussia to Germany and did all the politics and culture... and not an hour into the class I was like "lol Prussia was a troll... JUST LIKE IN HETALIA! ZOMG"

I still have my notebook from that class; it's full of Hetalia chibis doing whatever my notes were about.

I totally drew Hetalia characters all over my World History notes every time we took them, always acting out what the notes were about. In my class we had to show our notes to the teacher at the end of every chapter, and he was quite confused by the drawings.

Hetalia didn't exist when I was in high school, otherwise I know I would have done exactly the same thing.

As it was, my notes were invariably covered with relevant doodles EXCEPT in History class. Most of my teachers were quite amused if they saw them.

I've always been a history nerd, but since getting into Hetalia recently, my history classes are full of innuendos and hilarity. I have to honestly stop myself from laughing out loud sometimes...I don't find it all that embarrassing, just funny!
