Yes they can. If someone is attracted to only members of the same sex, they are homosexual. If someone is only attracted to members of the opposite sex, they are heterosexual. If someone is attracted to both sexes, they are bisexual. Those are the definitions.

There are other kinds of sexualities (or rather, people can be sexually attracted to things that don't fit these categories), but there are definitely people who do fit any one of the categories. In fact the vast vast majority of the population do.

It kind of bugs me when people go off about how categories don't exist when they obviously do.
