It annoys me because the series is called Digimon, but it's really about the humans. With a few exceptions, (like, Gatomon in Season One) the Digimon themselves never get character development and have pitiful amounts of screen time. Most of the times, in the first two seasons, the kids didn't even do anything except run and hide while the Digimon do the work. At least in Season Three, the tamers played a more active role in Digimon battles. Sadly, by then, my interest in the series started to wane.

Though, if there was a season that was just Digimon only, or at least a season that actually treats them as equals to the humans in terms of screen time and personality, I'd start watching again.
