Urgh, totally agreed anon. It has just gotten ridiculous, the amount of fics featuring just OCs. Even when it was at the point of one or two extra soldiers, that was somewhat acceptable, but there are now more fanon OCs than there are original cast members.

Theres not enough good fic for the main characters, it all seems focused on these stupid self-insert-y Mary-Sues.

I agree 100%. OCs can be okay in small doses, but the Primeval fandom has a massive amount of them.

I don't understand why they're even necessary... the canon characters are great, why waste your time with lame OCs?

I think I was in this fandom for about two weeks before I wandered off again. OCs were very much the reason.

Actually, I love writing rare pairings - if actual canon characters count as rare now, I could be tempted back :P
