So freaking true. Like, I've learned so much about standing up for myself and others, and love, and sacrifice, and caring and just being a good person and doing the right thing in the face of adversity from these books. I started reading them when I was eight, and the Harry Potter books have had possibly the most influence on my moral development and I wouldn't want it any other way.

This amuses me, given how many Christian themes are clearly evident throughout the books, particularly in book seven. (Note: I am not saying that it was intended that way, merely that the themes are there.) For me, the Harry Potter books supplemented everything that I believe in from the Bible, which was awesome. (And was also why I could never understand why other Christians freaked out about the books being sinful books. Because, uhh, no.)

Mind specifying OP? Since as much as I love them, most of the characters were pretty self-centred and assholes.

Oh please. Since when is the Bible or any religious text a directory on How To Be A Good Person? It's interpreted that way by those who subscribe to the specific belief, but really they're just collections of what the beliefs are.
