Fuck you. I agree OP shuldn't feel like they have to be ashamed of their kinks, but you're being an asshole. Some people take a little while before they can come to accept their kinks. It's perfectly normal and part of virtually every human being's psyche. It also tends to be stronger and more skewed towards the extreme if the person is on the nicer, gentler side in real life. In other words, you have nothing to feel guilty about. The fact that you are the "nice girl next door," contributes to your 'Shadow' being darker and scarier.

Let me tell you something about myself. I am a female in my early twenties who really gets off on M/M forced bondage and underage rape. Judging from the number of people who write this particular kink in my fandom, I am not the only one who gets off on it.

Does this mean we're all donating money to NAMBLA in exchange for pictures of real boys being abused? Obviously it doesn't. Does that mean we don't have fulfilling emotional and sexual relationships with our partners? Obviously it doesn't.

I feel where you're coming from, OP. I get really turned on by some pretty unpleasent stuff, especially when it's written well. I'm OK with that part of myself, they're valid kinks, fantasy doesn't mean I condone it, etc.

But the part that scares me is when the *only* things that turn me on are violent or filled with emotional pain. Sometimes I try to go for a month - during Lent, say - where I don't read or jerk off to rape fantasies or stories where a character has no power/equality. It's really really hard to come up with satisfying fluff, that also gets me off.
