Possibly stepping out on a limb here, but I thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiink secret #6 should be a link with a NSFW warning like you do with the other porny secrets. Workplaces generally don't make a distinction between toys and people in that department.

Except that

technophile HAS put particularly porn-ariffic secrets as a text link with a warning, despite that blanket warning at the top of the page. So I'm just curious why this one wasn't given the same treatment. And for the record, I am at home right now. I'm just, yanno, thinking of people other than myself.

yeah, there is no need to put the NSFW stuff behind another cut when it is already warned for. Stop being a prissy moral guardian and trying to mod yourself before accusing others.

I think the pornographic stuff that gets linked is linked because it might be illegal in some countries even to have the temp file from the loaded image in your browser history (i.e. when the participants are or appear underage), so that people who are just browsing F!S don't get arrested for possession of child porn or something. I don't know; I'm not certain of the details.

Either way, I don't think you can get arrested for a picture of a sex toy. Reprimanded at work, yeah, but not in legal trouble.

Is there a legal distinction between images of sex toys (not in use obviously) and pornography (do images of sex toys require the person to be 18+ to view or anything)? The reason porn is linked is to avoid potential problems with that stuff.

Online I'm not sure what Federal law says, but the sex toys themselves (including the marketing of) are actually illegal in several states (Georgia and Alabama to name a couple).

I don't check regularly so I missed the poll. I was just curious because I've seen porny secrets as text links and wondered why this one was an exception. Thanks for clarifying.

Sex toys are illegal to sell in Alabama without a doctors note. You can have them all you want as long as you get them somewhere else.

About that poll...what was it, a 5:4 ratio? It really wasn't an overwhelming vote, meaning almost half of people wish it had turned out the other way. Are the people who don't want them linked actually going to be affected by it if they are? Because we who did want them linked are certainly affected by the fact that they aren't.

Please consider my appeal. Hopefully you would rather err on the side of being respectful at the cost of others' disdain and eye-rolling than on the side of "fuck it, who cares what they think if there aren't enough of them to form a majority"? It wasn't a landslide, you know. I can overlook ignoring the feelings of a microscopic minority, but ignoring a large one kind of says "numbers are the end-all be-all".

A picture of a sex toy is not the same as actual pornography.
