this is kind of true but then why does the guy tell her to play Cooking Mama just because she's a girl
he really is being sexist since she obviously can and does play 'REAL GAMES' like TF2 so uhhhhhhhh

You know, I thought about adding some kind of comment like 'Haha, I wish he didn't say that bit about cooking mama though' in order to cover my ass from the nit pickers, but then I figured 'Oh well, it's a comic. Hopefully the people here will be smart enough to understand it's a joke that is simply employing hyperbole.'

Oh well. Once again, fandom secrets teaches me that hope is futile.

yeah i understand hyperbole but the cooking mama bit is not actually it. obviously it's a joke but i don't know that combatting one awful shitty thing with another is that great of an idea. plus it undermines the joke since in that one panel we go from "haha that girl sucks, I hate her! bet that guy's really gonna burn her good!" to "wait a minute, she's in the right here and that guy's a dick"

I don't think you understand what hyperbole is. The girl was speaking hyperbolically, the boy was not.

As I understand it, hyperbole is obvious and intentional exaggeration. I meant that the entire comic was an exaggeration on both sides. The girl's annoying tendencies are exaggerated, as is the boy's response. I can see how I worded that badly in my comment though.

Ehh I think it's because there are a few of the "omg gurl gamer" types that talk a lot about how they play a lot video games all the time but in reality they just play stuff like Cooking Mama. There's not anything wrong with that, it's just the "I'm such a gamer guyz lol" attitude that comes with it. :/
