The site's *far* more user-friendly, the mods are more accessible, the community's more closely knit.

And for 'nothing but yaoi on it', substitute 'no one to flame you for posting yaoi'. Not to mention a bit of a welcome break from all the exploitative tits and ass pics 'artistic nudes' on DA.

Eh, I don't see much of a difference between the type of "artistic nude" that was clearly made to be fap material and most of y!gallery's not-quite-pr0n. Granted, on y!gallery that kind of stuff is not even pretending to be anything else than what it is. And I do like y!gallery's club feature. It makes things easier, especially since the search is so often down (for me at least). The one problem I see is that the "no women" rule is pretty strict. I realize having girlybits all over the place would kind of defeat the purpose of it being a "yaoi gallery", but still. *is just bitter that there's no yuri gallery*

Of course, if one's problem with DA's pseudo-artistic fap material is that it's tits and ass rather than dicks in ass, I can understand how y!gallery is superior in that respect. And I'm not trying to be mean or diss yaoi/defend Da's T&A, it's just... porn is porn, you know?

I has no trouble with the porn, rly, m/f, f/f, m/m = all good (depending on how the subject matter's treated in each case). Problem with DA, though, to me==the same thing as the problem with Getty Images or any other image site--it's just *way* easier to find images of naked women than of naked men, 'cause the female body's thought of differently than the male body. Even if an artist isn't thinking 'fap, fap, fap', even if he/she doesn't even like women 'that way', and just wants to photograph -a- body like a landscape or use it like a piece of a still life--it's a woman's body 9 times out of 10--not even because the artist's turned on by any of it--just because the female body's considered a mute artistic object like a bowl of oranges or a pitcher and like the male body is not. (As the old Guerilla girls poster went, 'Do women have to be naked to get into the Met Museum?'.) Guess I just like to see some equal treatment for both sexes on that score.
