I adore the movie and I like Astrid as a character, but yeah, I wasn't too hot on them, either. I would have preferred if the movie left the romance out, especially since I'm really not that big on romance/shipping to begin with . . . to me, the movie was much more about "a boy and his dragon" rather than "LOOOOVE!!11!" Plus, yeah, the romance did seem to come out of nowhere . . .

. . . but for all the people wondering "how did riding on a dragon make her love him?" well, set this in Agrabah and switch out Toothless for a Magic Carpet and then you'll find your answer. :P
