Hell, I'm American and Episcopalian and I get creeped out by it.

Man, me too. I'll gladly pray for anyone who ASKS for prayer over an issue in their lives, but I know some people who, if they see anything that goes wrong with one of their friends, will be like "Oh you poor persecuted child of God! I will pray for mercy and healing and peace for your soul, amen!" and I can't help but kind of... recoil.

Yeah, I'm just really uncomfortable with any sort of evangelism. I still love going to church and the music and eerything, but any real evangelism really gets under my skin.

Yay. I love you.
I'm Catholic and an active part of my church, but when a class mate comes up to me and says, and I quote, "Oh my gosh! that retreat last weekend was great! I was on such a GOD-HIGH for days" my knee jerk response to this is the thoughts 'smile and walk away slowly. avoid making eye contact with the crazy',
