Eh, I'm not into EnglandxAmerica simply because I prefer the opposite setup. So what. If you don't like something for whatever reason then you don't like it, I see no reason to "suck it up" and pretend to like it just because you're worried about how you may come across to others. If people reccing EnglandxAmerica stuff bothers you tell them not to rec them to you because you don't like it, end of story.

Kinda OT, but while I know that the usual "British Empire" characterization (ie. rapist/crazy/creepily possessive/etc. England) is just a kink more often than not, it really irks me when people start trying to justify it saying that it's "historical" and that England is "too strong to be uke". :/ And now I stop before I launch into my usual, boring rant...

FYI, I was talking about a fantasy pairing and not RL homosexual relationships. (A fun fact, though: IRL not all homosexual couples switch. A balanced relationship does not necessarily depend on who puts what into whom. Not that this has anything to do with BL.)

And sometimes seme!yandere!England is just a case of character/pairing bashing. Some of the fics that have England being a crazy possessive empire towards America were written by people who don't really like the ship.
