If you don't like all the gay and all the boys, then do more about it. Draw or write some of the ladies/het/femslash/etc. If you can't do that, request to see art and fic of them! If you don't want to do that, start discussion on their roles and personalities and behaviors!

You're part of the fandom too. If you don't like it, start changing it. You're not the only one who thinks this, because I've seen people complain about this, so you're bound to find more people who agree.

This hasn't been my experience at all! I'm not hugely into the fandom, I just pick up fanart here and there, but from what I have it seems like equal attention to gets paid to the girls and the guys. There's also tons of popular girl-girl ships (and hetero ships). it seems way more equal than most fandoms. I dunno where you're hanging out for this fandom, but try somewhere else.

I know bawwwing in F!S is easier, but it's a fleeting masturbatory high that doesn't contribute squat, at all, to the problem, so you'll just come back and whine again later.

Yeah compared to a number of other fandoms out there Homestuck is quite femslash-friendly.

I will say however that I wish there was some femslash out there that didn't involve Kanaya and/or Vriska. What about Terezi/Nepeta? Or Jade/Feferi? Or Rose/Aradia?

Or, you could, y'know, look for like-minded folks and talk with them. You don't have to participate in every part of fandom if they don't deal with the things you like.

Also, it's kinda hard to complain about "white cock" when there aren't any humans of any other race in the source. Even the trolls are practically homogenous outside of their blood colour.

pretty sure this fandom has a higher instance of femmeslash than ive seen in any other fandom

also its kind of hard not to have white people when the source material is depressingly whitebread (which i have a problem with too, but i guess at least its more honest than trying to create artificial diversity by trying to make one random character of color and then getting everything wrong and offending people THAT way)

(though tbf headcanon says that jade is southeast asian and john is ... either asian or jewish POSSIBLY BOTH this is a thing)

what, do you expect everyone to make only what you like all the time? people in the fandom like slash, so obviously there is going to be slash. if you want more of X it would make more sense to just make it yourself, because complaining about it is only going to make people NOT want to contribute.

IMO, this fandom has a little bit of everything, but not enough of it all.

Trying to hard to find stuff to complain about.

I'm in the fandom only for the female characters, and am overwhelmed by the amount of stuff out there for them. It helps that Kanaya is my favorite, but still. I like m/m in other fandoms, but the mspa guys aren't catching my interest.

And complaining about white cock in a fandom for a (probably) all white canon is kind of silly. That's like praising Airbender slash for revolving around pocs.

I've always thought a lot of this is just a bunch of women creating porn for themselves. Doubtless there are sites with a lot of guys making all lesbian porn.

I've always thought it was this (people attracted to one gender just wanting porn of that one gender) rather than all the "no interesting female characters" crap, though, and this helps to prove me right. I wish people would stop hysterically coming up with a bunch of nonsense justifications.

i'm cracking up at all these people saying "DERP DERP IF YOU DONT LIKE IT, MAKE STUFF." obviously anon couldn't possibly be a contributor! you can tell by the way they use their words or something. guys there are more graceful ways to disagree than getting assdamaged about a callout.

fact is: what we want to see vs what there is available is always going to color our perceptions. dave/jade is my otp and i'm always going to be chilling in the "not enough dave/jade shit up in here yall" section; meanwhile i'm sure everyone feels exactly the same about their own ships. given the nature of homestuck pairings, 90% of what's posted is not going to appeal to any one person. and let me tell you from a contributor's standpoint: it's pretty easy to get overwhelmed and demoralized if you feel like nobody ships something except for you.

on the other hand! if you look at it objectively, homestuck actually has a pretty fantastic ratio all around compared to a lot of fandoms. there is something for everyone. it is just never going to seem like "enough" no matter what you're into.
