4Kids destroyed the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise in North America, to the point where TV Tokyo and Nippon Information Systems are now suing them because of it. They no longer have any rights to do ANYTHING with the YGO franchise.

So, there's no shame in hating the English version, OP, because Japan evidently hates it, too. xD

Really? I didn't know that. I hate 4Kids myself but I didn't think their dub of YuGiOh! DM was THAT bad. At least in comparison to GX and 5Ds, which was a thousand times worse.

Well, that's not the exact reason they're being sued, but they're still being sued because of what they did with YGO. (Also, I had the name of one of the companies wrong -- it's Nihon Ad Systems, my bad.)

Looks like 4Kids was involved in a lot of shady dealings. Sounds like the Japanese companies are pissed because they got cheated out of heaven knows how much money. I don't blame them.

It has nothing to do with the quality of the product though, only that 4kids lied to them about how much money YGO brought in.
