yeah i really don't think the thug scene is that important to the enjoyment of tangled.

IA. I thought it was a stupid scene.

mte it was like five minutes long dude, not a big deal at all. if you didn't like the movie then you didn't like it, but i really doubt that this is what killed it for you.

I KNEW that scene reminded me of something!
Anyway, I know what you mean. Not with that particular scene, but I've heard of a joke only to have it come up again in another, more popular thing, and I don't find it as funny.

I doubt it's supposed to be the funniest part. :/

I can't decide if you just wanted to share the fact that Tangled made you think of Olive, or if you're actually really this torn about a 3 minute scene. I'm not sure which one reflects better on you.

You're right, those scenes are awfully similar. It's a bit of an old shtick anyway; I wasn't big on the thugs because I kept thinking about how the Silver Horde could kick their asses.

I love you anon for pointing this out. No joke, since Tangled came out I've been making the comparison between "I've Got a Dream" & "Not So Bad". I honestly thought I was the only one.
Olive's my favorite christmas special and while I don't think knowing it ruined my experience with Tangled it did feel like a rehash :P

The bar full of thieves plotline was one of the weakest parts of the movie, I think.

I haven't seen Olive, nor did I dislike Tangled, but I agree with you on the whole empty feeling thing. I REALLY loved the CGI, but something about the humor seemed hollow and really shoehorned in there. :|

HOLY CRUD! I was wondering why that scene felt so familiar!! I love Olive, I haven't seen it in years!

I agree with you about the hollow feeling, but I can't figure out why... By all means, it was a great Disney movie, but I felt like it was missing something. I have no idea! :/ It just didn't strike a chord with me, I guess.

I think you have the wrong application of the things that you see, for this is not the one part that is the biggest. The biggest parts were other things that happened.

So you focus, and your focus makes sense in light of what you've seen and done. But your focus is still wrong! So watch again, and ignore what you've focused on, and become right!

Then you can love both without confusion or feelings of bad! The empty will go away and instead there will be happy.

Actually you might find you dislike it even more than you did before. And that is fine. But at least it will be in a truthful way.

I haven't seen Tangled yet, but I love Olive!

Meph. It was cute, but even without having seen Olive, you could still see the joke coming at a hundred paces. It's a pretty played-out gimmick.

Oh geez... Olive, the Other Reindeer... O_O I haven't seen that in years.

I liked Tangled but, I didn't find the bar scene funny either. I don't know, I just I just don't think thugs liking activities like gardening and cooking is that odd? Everyone has hobbies right?

Aw, I *love* Olive! (I haven't seen 'Tangled' yet, so I can't really comment in any useful way on this one, but I wanted to at least be one other person gushing over a super cute Christmas cartoon)

OH MY GOSH OLIVE THE OTHER REINDEER. <333 There needs to be more love for this movie. None of my friends know it exists.

HOWEVER. I love Tangled too. I could kinda see the we're-actually-big-softies number coming, but I did find it entertaining (may have choked on my soda a little at the huge guy with the little unicorns). By far not the funniest part in the entire movie, though. In my opinion.
