I'm 30, not married, don't have kids and I'm active in 5 different fandoms. I go to conventions to chat and squee with other like-minded people, many of whom are even older than I am, married with children and involved in fandom.

I don't think there's a time limit on fandom activity. Life also doesn't end if you're not married by age 25! Do you even want to get married and have kids? Because it's okay if you don't, and if anyone gives you crap about your life choices, then it's their problem and not yours. Keep on fangirling/fanboying and live your life the way you like it :)

Rock on, fellow anon! I'm turning 30 this year - still in graduate school, single, no kids, still active in fandom, couldn't be happier. In my fandom, the ages, marital statuses, and number of kids (including 0) ranges wildly, so there's definitely no time limit or age where you should "grow up".

OP, not knowing what your background is of course, I see no reason why you should worry. Hell, 23 is way too young to be getting married and having kids, IMO. Not to say those people are failures either, but don't compare their lives to yours. Everyone makes different decisions in life, and it's a privilege to be able to make them. Also, I'd guess at least some of them are thinking "man, I wish I had waited."
