Am I the only one who finds this weird?

HIGH SCHOOL?! FUCKING HIGH SCHOOL AND PEOPLE ARE MARRIED/ENGAGED/HAVE CHILDREN?! Excuse my asking OP, but where in the world are you from?? This is mind-boggling for me. I thought people in most Western countries people don't really marry early unless they got knocked up from teen sex. Are you from a place where early marriage is expected?

Regardless, I wouldn't worry about it. There are worse things you can do to feel like a failure at 23, such as dropping out of college, not having a job, etc. Scrapbooking for fandom is hardly anything horrific.

Nope, you're not alone.

I'm from a middle eastern country and I don't see that many people getting married so young here. I'm 23 and out of the 25 or so people in my graduating class (college) only 3 have gotten married, and I know for a fact that they aren't planning on having children any time soon.

I don't believe OP meant that at the time of HS graduation people were married/etc. but at the time of OP's college graduation. I had to read it a couple times to get that. XD

I don't think that changes anything really. The OP says they're 23. That's still very young at least in my experience.

It is still young, but there's miles difference between getting married at 23 and getting married at 17/18. To my mind at least. :)

Before I finished the part where OP says they're age, I was boggling about the same thing.

Bonus derp: I thought OP's fellow grads were 23. At the time of graduation and I was totally into this idea of super long high school.

Yeah, when I was 19 and two years out of high school, I found out a girl in my class had a six month old baby. I was like WAIT WHAT (especially because young marriage/kids is not really the norm where I grew up).

I'm 22 now and it still surprises me when I hear of schoolmates being married.

Lots of people get knocked up in high school in the US -- due to lack of proper sexual education and lack of access to birth control. You can thank social conservatives for that!
