This. The Mother is a framing story for the real plot, a slice of life series about five friends in New York City. And they have tons of sex and Neil Patrick Harris gets to wander around in various states of undress. If HIMYM ends, where will we get our weekly dose of half-naked to mostly naked to implied to be in the buff NPH?

I think it's been implied by some of the cast, and the kids will have to be born at some point (at the latest 2015... and the show is about just MEETING their mother afterall). Still, there's always hope.

I've been told by a friend who works in the industry that Radnor's only signed on for two more seasons and won't do any more after that. Given that we can't really have the show without Ted...yeah.

I never cared about the mom, but it's still a bit weird to me how he censors 'fuck you' and how they smoked weed from his kids, but all references to sex are fine.

i honest to god only think they seriously had the whole "mother" idea in the first place is to 1.) be a tad different than Friends. 2.) Have someone narrate. The mother is only ever brought up for finales, anyways.

I'm kind of the opposite. I feel like we love Ted (or some of us) and have had the mother built up as this huge deal that I'll be kind of disappointed if we only get to meet her and don't get up to the alter.

I feel sorry for them having to listen to every detail of Ted's boring life-story. His story might make a good TV show, but imagine what it's like from the perspective of the kids. Hearing your dad constantly going into long, pointless monologues on his life must get tiresome.

I never really gave a fuck anyways from the very beginning. (I temporarily gave a shit during this season,but only because I hoped Zoey would be the mother. Shut up, I love Jennifer Morrison.)
