This. The Mother is a framing story for the real plot, a slice of life series about five friends in New York City. And they have tons of sex and Neil Patrick Harris gets to wander around in various states of undress. If HIMYM ends, where will we get our weekly dose of half-naked to mostly naked to implied to be in the buff NPH?

Hate to break your bubble, anon, but it's ending in two seasons. Josh Radnor's not doing any more than that.

Renewed for two seasons doesn't equal will end in two seasons.

I think it's been implied by some of the cast, and the kids will have to be born at some point (at the latest 2015... and the show is about just MEETING their mother afterall). Still, there's always hope.

I've been told by a friend who works in the industry that Radnor's only signed on for two more seasons and won't do any more after that. Given that we can't really have the show without Ted...yeah.

Works in industry doesn't always mean reliable source. A "friend" of Neil's kept going on and on about how Neil was going to move to New York City and retire from acting, but that was hardly true. Unless the actor himself comes out to say something, rumors are just rumors.
