Ugh. Yet another secret that convinces me that 90% of people who say they are asexual are LYING.

I hate to agree with a troll, but I kind of do. About the 90% thing, not the shut up and have sex thing. Most asexual people I've met don't actually talk about their sexuality...because being asexual generally means you don't care about it/it isn't important in your daily life.

True story. I went and joined AVEN way back because I thought it would be nice to be on a forum and make some friends where I wouldn't have to worry about "sending the wrong signals" and where every conversation wouldn't turn to sex. Turns out all they talk about on the asexuality boards is sex and sexuality. *yawn* I don't post there anymore.

It was admittedly pretty foolish of me, but I had thought that there would be a section on What Is Asexuality and discussions of that topic, and then more of a general forum for chitchat and meeting with like-minded folks. I didn't expect the entire forum to be about discussing sex.

Being interested in penetration isn't inherently against the definition of being attracted to women and not men though. Being interested in sex IS against the definition of asexual.

If you change your example from penetrative sex to sex with a man, then it works on some level.

This is what many people have tried explaining in this thread. Having the biological urge to have an orgasm is not the same thing as wanting to participate in said orgasm with another person.

I'm not comfortable questioning how people self-identify, but that's a terrible comparison. Replace "penetration" with "men" (and "and my girlfriend uses a strap on" to "with a man" or "thinking about men" and "penetrative sex" to "sex with men" or "heterosexual sex") and it's a more accurate comparison.

They could be, but why don't you actually look up what asexuality is before you tell other people they're wrong about their sexuality. Seriously, asexual =/= celibate.
