Jennifer Lawrence wasn't exactly a fan "un"favorite. Plenty of the fandom considered her a great fit but unlikely to get it, and is thrilled she ended up getting cast.

Is the guy on the left's face photoshopped in?

I honestly feel like Jennifer and Josh will be perfect (idek who the kid playing Gale is, but Gale barely ever registered on my radar anyway), but I did laugh at the fandom breakdown over the casting. I wasn't fond of any of the fandom choices (except Hallie Steinfeld; I did like her), so I was pleased with the casting.

All Jennifer Lawrence does is bring to me an image of Dana Carvey and Mike Myers taking turns belting out

I'm not active in fandom at all, but... that Katniss and Peeta are perfect! They're honestly just like I imagined them.

Does anyone know when the movie is slated to come out?

Her hair looks black in that picture? I'm confused.

It's shopped to make her look like Katniss.

She is going to dye her hair and wear lenses though so she will look like that.

Which is better sure, but still not exactly thrilling.

Yeah, but she's a good actress so I still have my hopes up. :)

Well, as long as she pulls it off, I'm cool with it I guess. I'd prefer someone who actually had that look naturally though.

I shall just sooth myself with how much I like their pick for Peeta I guess.

I'd also like to add that there are several shades of olive skin from the darker, golden tones to ones that are really light. Like this lady here, (http://a133.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/54/l_c58070766bb5e97a14f16ccf83abc2a4.jpg) she's still got olive skin. It's just well, really light like I said before.

So since I have no idea who that actress is, I can just go off this image which has obviously been played with so I can't really judge her on much. I was mostly referring to her features since I'd always assumed Katniss would have fuller lips for some reason.

So they cast Hunter Parrish? I may have to see the movie just for his face :D

Nope, I think he was just a favourite to be cast but wasn't.

It stars Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen, Josh Hutcherson as Peeta Mellark, and Liam Hemsworth as Gale Hawthorne. It is scheduled to be released on March 23, 2012

I wish they'd hurry up with the rest of the casting - I want to know who will be be playing Cinna, Haymitch, and Rue!

I haven't read the books yet, but I DO know of the wanksplosion over the casting and that's awesome that you can get a lol out of it. Hopefully, even though the people cast were NONE of the fandom's choices, they'll wind up kickin' ass! Ideally there's a Heath-Ledger-as-Joker situation here, where the nerdwankery had a happy ending, rather than, like, a Last-Airbender one where nobody wins except people who just wanna shit on everything.

Yes, because the upset over The Last Airbender was clearly just undeserved wankery.

I wanted Kaya S. to be Katniss :(

jennifer wasn't my first choice, but i was praying that anyone but kaya would be cast.

I love Josh Hutcherson, but he looks weird as a blond. Good for him for beating out who knows how many others.

This. Holy cats people in this fandom got so very attached to their own personal fancast picks.

I don't care, personally. I'm just hoping that when the movie comes out, they look and act like the characters. And that's like a year from now so in the meantime I'll try not to worry.
