You... don't frequent a lot of het shipping discussions or fic, do you. Seriously, quit blaming all of fandom's problems on slash. Slash doesn't make characters OOC. Slash doesn't make for misogynistic characterization. Slash doesn't lead to character-bashing and hatred. Bad writing and stupid fans do. Of ANY pairing or character.

ffs i stopped encountering idiotic misogyny in my fic when i stopped reading it on ff.net or adultfanfiction... it's really just shitty writing that's the problem.

Yes. It bugs the hell out of me when people act like the sexual orientation of the characters in a fic is to blame if the fic is badly written. I won't make the obvious accusation, but I'm really just bitter by the amount of "OMG TELL ME THIS STORY WON'T BE SLASH BECAUSE THAT'LL BE SOOOO OOC N' THINGS" PMs I've received lately for my own writing. /vent
