1. A recurring story that nearly every episode is a part of, or at least refers to. Way to discourage new viewers, guys.
2. Recurring villains, some of whom last for several seasons. Is it so wrong to want a villain brought to justice (or even killed), and the show to move on?
3. Season-ending cliffhangers. If your show is good, you don't need a cliffhanger to get people to watch it next season. And it it's bad, plenty of people are willing to stop watching, even WITH them.
