Since people were calling for a revised poll (excluding the 12-2PM option), here you go!

ETA: Additionally, how would you feel about keeping it at the usual 4PM Eastern on weekends? That's totally doable. Say what you think in comments maybe?

Honestly whatever is best for you. I can't help thinking it is the height of entitlement for us to dictate to you when you should update this comm - just as we all have lives and jobs so do you, and I'm just generally impressed you find the time to update regularly every day - I certainly wouldn't be half so organised.

Also, I second those in the 'I like to read the wank when it's over' camp - much more fun that way ;P

I voted for 6-7 am because that would be most convinient for me, but you should do what makes things easier for you. I am very grateful for your hard work already and do not want F!S to be any more troublesome than it already is.

Post it whenever is convenient for you! You don't even have to do it every day if it's a problem.

Speaking of which, um, I don't know if this would be a bad idea but - would it maybe be preferable for it to update with normal posts, say, Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and then with double posts at the weekends (at the 4PM time?) to make up for the missing days? That way, the same amount of secrets would get posted, people who can only participate at the weekends would get more to comment on, and you'd get two days off!

I don't know if that's a good idea or if it would make more work for you though - I know nothing about comm maintaining!

I kinda like this idea. But I don't know if it would be practical or would make more work. A lot of people would probably complain about not getting their daily dose (I love that f!s is like a drug). Then I guess there are people who work weekends. Personally I like the idea, it would work for me, but I doubt it would work for many others.

6-7am for me. I really would like to be able to comment on more active discussions when they happen. 8pm-11pm just doesn't work for me so I'll be selfish and say that.

But 4pm on weekends would be nice too if it turns out to be the bad time for me! But whatever works.

Has it actually occured to anyone chosing a specific time that it won't just be you awake at that time? There'll be hundreds/thousands of other people checking it out at the same time so surely the posts will be active for a lot longer?

For me personally, 6-7 am would be perfect and 8-11 pm would suck... but that's just because of my sleep schedule. Honestly, as long you are kind enough to post something for us once a day, whenever, it doesn't matter.

(tbh I thought that was what this poll was, "I'd prefer this time but whenever is fine, really," not "YOU MUST UPDATE AT THIS TIME OR I WILL HATE YOU FOREVER." Fuck the whiners.)

I understand that it's your community and sometimes posting early just doesn't work out.

It just makes me so sad that I won't be able to comment anymore or even wait for it to be posted like I did every night. :( I go to sleep at around 1-2 and being awake until nearly morning so I can read is just... not very doable.

Sure, maybe the post is still active the next morning, but I don't really expect to get many answers almost a day later when I am able to log again. :/

I'd prefer an earlier update, as it's currently already quite late where I live. And keeping it the same on weekend would be neat.

damn, this was one of the few communities that wasn't run to suit the american timezones, left on the shelf again.

The community is not run to suit any specific timezone. It's run to suit Case's schedule.

Any time is good for me. I admit I liked the 4pm because it meant I got to read when I came home from work, but that'd still happen if it was 6-7am or 8-11pm, so... I can't say I care all too much. XD

People are getting really annoyed that people have preferences and are annoyed at the time change, but this poll was your idea afterall, Mr. technophile. It's great that you're willing to listen to your members' own preferences, a lot of people just wouldn't care.

I voted for 6-7AM because I live in Europe and would love to not have to wait until the next day (next evening, in fact, because I don't get home until 6PM GMT most days), but if that's not possible for you to do then that's totally fine. I won't get annoyed over something you can't really help because of your job.

Oh, regular time on the weekends is cool with me, too.

I'm fine with all of these options but I think maybe it might be time for you to take on a co-mod? The demands of this are kind of insane for one person.

Oh and I think the poll might have better results if you do something like this

because right now I voted for one that would be convenient for me, but I wouldn't be bothered if it wasn't picked, and we obviously have people here who have very strong feelings on it.

Technophile, all I see when I look at the options is how tired you are going to be. You are forgoing sleep in order to do this on top of a full time job. As much as I like F!S, don't work yourself to death over this place.

If you can't keep it up, I am sure most people here will understand.

I like the idea of it updating in the morning so I can check before work, so I selected that. But honestly, you're awesome enough just posting the secrets at all, so whenever works for you! We'll deal. Promise. :)

I voted for morning, mainly because that way I can hit the post the same day it goes up (I have to go to bed around 7 pm on account of working WAY too early in the morning.) I'd be in favor of leaving the weekend times the same, though. I mean, I'll be getting online quite a ways after the post on the weekdays, but on the weekends I get up late, so I'd like to have it at the usual time then so I can see the post right after it's gone up.

I wonder if it updates 6-7am Eastern, will the discussion get stretched out over more of the day, rather than being concentrated around 5pm EST? That might be interesting. But I voted "don't care".
Really, whenever it's easiest.

I like the ~4pm ET update time. It's nice having an F!S update to read when I'm winding down the workday. :)

That said, I don't think F!S needs to update at a fixed time every day. Maybe technophile should update at whatever time happens to suit his fancy that day. An added benefit of varying the update times would be appeasing folks from all the different timezones.
