I think you're still taking this to mean no one can ever show support for another group, which isn't what I'm saying -- I can think of several songs by straight (to the best of my knowledge) artists about equality or in response to hate crimes, etc. that are appropriate and respectful. But oftentimes if you try to send an ~empowerment~ message to a group you are not a part of, it fails for a variety of reasons.

For BTW in particular, this is the closest comparison I can think of:

imagine you are talking with a friend about a mutual female friend of yours. then a male friend overhears you, and says "oh yeah, X? she's hot." male friend was not asked for his opinion, but he assumes that his approval is wanted, and probably needed. he's doing female friend X a favor by saying he, a male, approves of her.

that's kind of what BTW comes off to me as. it's the most basic form of support (that some folks may not even want, i.e. saying god made them that way), paired with assumption that gay/trans*/poc want and need someone from the privileged group to tell them that they're acceptable.

See, in the situation you present, I would have to know more. Is that a non-sequetor? Is the subject of the mutual friend's looks being presented, or is his comment out of nowhere?

I would think anyone would WANT to know that they're acceptable. Just because it comes from a unoppressed group doesn't diminish that in any way.

See, I'm autistic, and in the autistic community there's a lot of hatred for "neurotypicals" (ie, people without neurological disabilities. Sometimes used to mean people without autism specifically). It's assumed by a lot of people that neurotypicals are inherently against us. Which is bullshit. I'd LOVE to see more NTs support us. Not only would it do us good to get more people on our side, it would also show that no, just because someone isn't part of our group doesn't mean that they're against us. It would be good for their image as well. So good all around. See what I mean, where I'm coming from?

Whether or not her looks are being discussed is irrelevant, because the male friend was not invited to the conversation, but feels his input is wanted anyway.

AGAIN, support is good. but there's a right way to do it. if you told this to someone, and all they said was "Aw, that's okay, you were born that way, God loves you and doesn't make any mistakes!" would you not find that a bit irritating? because -- I've seen some discussion on NTism, but not enough to talk about it specifically, but in general, for many of the people the song talks about, it's either like a) DUH I was born this way and/or b) it's irrelevant if I was born that way and/or c) idgaf about her god.

I don't see any reason to not jump into conversations if you feel you have something to add. Question, since your wording seems to hinge on this, would your example be any different if it was a female friend?

As I said, the secret doesn't even seem to be talking about the song but about Gaga herself, like how dare this white/straight/cis woman show support. And that's a very painful attitude that leads to outsiders being shunned.
