Personally, I just want Linneus to stop being a doormat and more of Claret and Mercutio. Rory/Reed do nothing for me and I would be more than happy if Claret and Mercutio would be made main characters instead, but without fixed love interests.

It would be nice if there turned out to be more to the comic than just pretty boy sex - the power-struggle plot you've suggested is pretty interesting. Still, since the general audience seems most enthusiastic about the romance aspect, that'll probably always be at the forefront.

The art really is lovely, though.

I hate these fill in the blanks color secrets. Just fucking put their names. I'm not colorblind and it still doesn't make sense!

At any rate, it's trying for a plot, so I'm still reading it, unlike Star Fighter or Hannah.

About the art...

I know it's all based on taste, but everyone I know thinks that this comic has the most beautiful art ever, but I just can't see it. The faces look so messed up to me, as with the general anatomy and proportions. The colors and backgrounds are nice, but other than that....
Can anyone help me see it? (because I really would like to understand, as art is important to me)

The art isn't hideous to me. It's gorgeously detailed, yet at the same time, I agree there is a weird sharpness and some very strange angles that ultimately make their faces unappealing. Like I know they're supposed to be beautiful and the potential is there but the artist's style or something just cock blocks. I still read the comic though because the rest of the art is, as you say, nicely colored and lushly detailed but those faces....

I think my problem with it is that there's a...strange sense of detailing everything for the sake of details instead of detailing what's important and what the reader should be focusing on in the frame. As a result, the eye kind of swims around the panel in an attempt to process all the detail instead of actually looking at what's important.

no, you're pretty much right. The facial structures of the characters are a) awful and b) all basically the same, even on the poor girls, and the artist constantly makes all these mistakes in continuity/perspective/etc but no one ever notices because ~ooh pretty pastelly colored buttsex~

there are plenty worse artists out there but there are just way too many small but incredibly annoying mistakes that are made way too frequently.

Well, you're right about the actual art being kind of meh, it's the coloring that's amazing. Though this comic has a professional colorist working on it ... so that's probably why the colors are so good

Nooo, I get what you mean. The faces are really weird and awkward. the coloring and backgrounds are great, but the faces are just there is something wrong with them. Like, remember that page in the garden with Lilith and whatshisface owner? blew me away except for the faces.

No, I'm with you. Like everyone else has said the coloring is gorgeous, but the faces all pretty much look the same or they look really bizarre. I still like it, but sometimes it'll just take me right out of the moment.

I like the super lush backgrounds and coloring-- as someone mentioned, the weird detailing for the sake of detailing is actually pretty bad, but I never noticed, because I don't give a flying fuck about any of the characters or the story :D

Geeze, I just started reading this comic after the secret about it last week and even though I still refer to the characters as "that tall purple-y guy" and "stereotypically fiery and tsundere redhead" even I found all the "him's" and "he's" annoying.

Buuut yeah, there's only two chapters up, OP. It probably won't get very complex, since it already is pretty cliche, but I'm willing to wait to be proven wrong. (And if not, I'm totally willing to just get free beautifully colored porn.)

This... doesn't sound too unlikely to me? I'm sure there will be some sort of a story and I'm interested to see how it plays out (which is more than can be said for Starfighter, which I don't even give a shit about anymore). But I'd be lying if I said I wasn't mostly in it for the porn.

I'm good with this particular webcomic being all about the UST and not a lot more, but I've felt the same way about so many simple plots, OP. (I hated the 6th Harry Potter book partly because of that.) But the story's already taken some twists I hadn't expected, so, more complex than I had expected already!

Re: the people telling OP to chill, it's only two chapters in...we may not get so lucky that this thing will run for chapters and chapters. I mean, I really, really hope the creators of Teahouse and Starfighter are still posting these graphic stories three years from now, but the web's a fickle medium for a writer's interest.

I kind of disagree - I feel like it's still early days with this comic and there's going to be more than just OMG BUTSECKS. We've already got a good foundation - the fact that Rhys is getting married to that virgin-rapist guy's cousin is an interesting turn of events. I like that Leonius (sp??) or whatever was sold to the house when he was a ickle boi makes for intesting character development.
