Do the characters on Huge sing and dance? 'Cause the singing and dancing is the only reason I watch Glee. The characters and storylines kinda suck.

The premise sounds weird, but the cast looks amazing. *_* I have a soft spot for Nikki Blonsky and the others look just as awesome if not better.

It's really, really good. Without a doubt it has the best portrayal of teens I've ever seen on TV -- each character has the right mix of intelligence, kindness, cruelty, immaturity, etc. etc. etc. Nobody -- NOBODY -- is a cliche, which is pretty amazing in just ten episodes.

They're very different shows. Huge was much more serious and not trying to be a parody of anything, for one.

And people enjoy shows for different reasons. Maybe people like the ridiculousness of the characters in Glee, or the music, or the fact that it's in an actual school instead of summer camp. There are a million differences. The only similarity is they are both "teen" shows and they both attempt to tackle "serious issues".

Huge was great but I don't really think you can compare the two. They both have casts of misfit teenagers but other than that, they're completely different shows with audiences who were looking for completely different things from each of them.

Now that I've gotten all that pesky "commenting about the secret" nonsense out of the way, MY KINGDOM FOR SOME HUGE SCREENCAPS! Why so ignored, show? Oh, right. All the fat people. And the being on cable. Now let me undermine that last comment with a PLL icon.

I don't know about them, because I don't watch Glee, but Huge was AWESOME. I'm still sad it got canceled. I even wrote to ABC Family telling them how much I loved it, and I don't usually do that kind of thing.

I just wanted to say thanks OP. I haven't heard that Huge existed before your secret. I've only just gotten to the first commercial break and already I'm in love. Being able to go "OMG she has my thighs!" is somehow...exhilarating?

That's an honest question by the way. I've never heard anyone compare them, but I try to stay away from Glee fandom because they are kind of insane in a not fun way.

Never watched Huge (frankly I kind of dismissed it because it's ABC Family and I've never enjoyed their original shows) but maybe I'll give it a shot now.

I'm a little bit surprised to see the two shows compared to each other since... I find them very, very different in their portrayals of everything ever, but I agree to a certain amount.

I really loved Huge and I was really sad when they canceled it, but I do also like Glee!

Honestly, though, I don't think I would participate in a fandom for Huge- not because of the way the kids look, but just because it's not the kind of show that I would feel comfortably reading/writing fic about- and I certainly will not touch the Glee fandom, but I think someone else already said what I was thinking:

A lot of people don't/won't watch shows that don't have characters that they can super easily 'ship or... fap to.

I think Huge could have used a little bit more humor to it but I'm still disappointed it got cancelled.

I'm not going to say shallowness isn't a factor in Glee's popularity over Huge, but they are still pretty different shows.
