I can't stand either Mukuro or Hibari. Never could. The only redeeming thing about Mukuro are his henchmen and Chrome.

That being said I love Yamamoto and Gokudera. I always thought those two were more fan favorites >.>

I agree so hard, but throw Hibari on the pile too, they're both wastes of space taking time away from characters who actually do have merit.

Mukuro me likes even if it's not my favourite, he is an interesting character after all.
What confuses me is the Hibari love, he even won first place a "character you'll want to MARRY" poll. I can't even, srly.

I agreed, but then I thought of the characters I love from Reborn and realised that barely any of them have any redeeming qualities either.

Oh well. I'll just continue to love the series for the pretty. /shallow

Since the last chapter (334, right?) I like him again! I enjoy demented assholes who seem like they halfway know how little their good intentions amount to. He wants to destroy the world to rebuild it, but is as much of a mess as anyone else who's made the world what it is, and the mix of bugfuck and "good" adds up to a character I find over the top in an interesting way.

Well I guess the days in the fandom where you could like whoever the fuck you wanted to like are over.
However, I don't get the hate for certain character because they get more attention than others, people like who they like, end of story. And to be honest, Yamamoto and Gokudera fangirls can be just as obnoxious as the Mukuro and Hibari fangirls. And why are we even complaining about a manga that caters to fangirls as a whole--people were bound to have favorites, so I don't see the problem here.
:/ I think I'm just getting too old for this shit...

I always thought Hibari was the fandom darling and THAT I understand even less than Mukuro. At least Mukuro has a back story and a sort of family (Ken and Chikusa and later Chrome and Fran). Hibari has a Kusakabe and no past. Whatever. I skip over the copious Hibari stuff if I'm not up to it *shrugs*

Maybe they like Mukuro's snarky side and that tsundere "I don't like my minions~" lie he tells all the time. He's a character constantly contradicting himself, and people find that interesting. His abilities have all sorts of potential depending on how you interpret them. His Cute Little Chrome and his strangely dependant sort-of-master/student relationship with her is a bonus for those of us who like the girl characters.

Also, Mukuro is smokin' hot ten years later~! /shallow
