The Once and Future King + Idylls of the King are superior and probably always will be, however.

tbh, I had knee-jerk reaction to the picture, because it looks like Spartacus: Blood and Sand, in that it seems to be about good-looking people being good-looking, and oh also there's Arthur, we'll pretend that's the plot.

But my problem with Arthur remakes is that of the entire Arthur arc, every recent remake is about Arthur/Guinevere/Morgana/Mordred/Merlin/sometimes Lady of the Lake stuff and about who to be sympathetic toward. I say no one, they were all fuck-ups. However, not a single thing about the round table and their awesome adventures. And their adventures were awesome. What I would kill for a modern Sir Gawain/Galahad/Percival Holy Grail quest.

Oh, I see what you mean.

Well, to be honest, the stuff with Arthur/Merlin/Guinevere/Lancelot/Morgana was pretty much all that interested me, besides a passing interest in (1) Erec and Enid's Boinkfest That Threatened Chivalry As We Know It and (2) Gawain's Hilarious Verdant Misadventures. The rest was always too focused on ~purity to hold my attention, tbh.

I agree with the purity part, which is why I would prefer a modern adaptation. I just feel there aren't that many incarnations of betrayal that you can go through with that part of the arc.
