On the one hand, it'd be pretty great to have an out gay main character in a kids' show.

On the other hand, I'm gonna have to go with fuck you, OP, because it sure sounds like what's going on in your head is that she must be a lesbian because she looks fit as hell and ready to kick ass … unlike all those nice, sweet, proper girls who like boys.

I think I should have thought more carefully about my wording, I never meant to imply she LOOKS lesbian. I guess I should have said something like "head canon". One day I thought "Hey, that'd be awesome" and suddenly I can't see her otherwise.

Yes, that's how I see it, too. For me, it has nothing to do with how she looks. I just really WANT her to be gay, for all of those gay young girls who KNOW they are gay already and yearn for a heroine to look up to.

It's the same with Azula. A lot of the people who femmeslash her and/or think she's gay are lesbians themselves. Of course, they get told she can't possibly be a lesbian for one reason or another and sometimes have homophobic comments left for their fanfics... so we'll see if Korra's fanbase has any better luck with that. Hopefully.
