But how do you know that? I think it's kind of ridiculous to say with such solidity that you know exactly what is going on in OPs head.

Say someone grew up in a secluded cult. All their life they were taught that this was the only way, they weren't even taught to think about other options. They didn't question because that was simply not how things were done. Say they grow up and sneak online or out to a movie. Suddenly they're faced with questions and ideas that they've literally never even thought of. For the first time in their life they have the thought that maybe what they were taught growing up, what they took for fact, wasn't 100% true.

Does the fact that they only started to question later in life and due to a movie make those questions any less valid or important?

Some people just go along, either because they're taught to do so or because they are just not naturally questioning people. Just because it takes a different form of enlightenment doesn't make the questioning any more or less valid.

OP could very well be a weak-willed person who conforms to whatever they happen to be involved in or surrounded with at the moment. But they could also be facing questions that they have never been faced with before, and having rather genuine feelings and thoughts.

I agree.

Moderation is the key here. Some people think they're trans because they're bandwagon-hoppers, and some people actually are. Even though my brain is telling me the OP seem bandwagon-y I think that they should seek professional help and get the solid diagnosis.
