Mm, no. Sorry, I've read and reread the thing and, no, it's exactly what they said. The poster, however unintentionally, is saying because they have been lucky enough to avoid any negative experiences in fandom anyone who does somehow brought it on themselves.

Yeah, I know, right? God knows that I totally deserved to have a pack of shitheads mock me behind my back for two years simply because they didn't like the pairing I was writing then. But I guess I brought it on myself for daring to write what I wanted instead of what the self-appointed fandom police thought was good, right?

Newsflash, OP: there are people out there with rotten souls and empty little lives who will seize any excuse--no matter how unjustified, petty or ridiculous--to rip someone else down in exchange for a fleeting moment of delusion that they aren't complete wastes of mentally diseased flesh. Many fandoms are packed full of them.

If you've truly never had any trouble, you have no idea just how fucking lucky you've been.
