So many generations have done the "new form of media X is corrupting our children and it'll surely be the end of civilisation" thing already, it's getting kind of boring. Can't you think of something new? :|

(nevermind that if any civilisation was this easy to destroy, it couldn't have been very good to begin with and almost certainly deserved to go)

No offense intended, but I am not sure this is a very good argument. There are tons of things that are simply awful and are borderline impossible to destroy (famine, disease, bigotry, reality television...), while some things that are beautiful and amazing are also fragile and can get shattered to pieces pretty quickly (peace, love, happiness, faith, families, lives, anything of quality that ever aired on FOX...need I go on?).

Basically, I don't think something's value can be solely determined by its ability to survive.

Not that this means that Homestuck is destroying civilization. That assertion is just OP Complaining About Stuff S/He Doesn't Like.
