I use adblock for a similar purpose. Only it's not so much fandoms that annoy me. Sometimes there's some squicky stuff in icons that I just don't want to see. But more frequently it's the certain type of high speed animated flashy icon that is just freaking migraine inducing. Discovering this feature made the internet so much less painful.

If you use firefox, you just hit escape and all moving icons/pictures/backgrounds stop moving. It's beautiful.

Yeah, that would be good, if I wanted all the animated stuff on the page to stop moving.

I block the seizure-inducing. Luckily though there is less of them now - guess being an asshole is getting out of style.
