You're right that actual pedophiles shouldn't be looking at fictionalized porn of children as it will probably make life harder for them (and make them more likely to act on their urges and hurt a real child) however not everyone the enjoys porn of fictional children are pedophiles.

I think you'll find MOST people in fandom who read and write that kind of porn are driven by different urges than a pedophile would be - usually they're a fan of a particular character and want to explore their vulnerabilities at that age, or whatever. This is way, way, way different from actual pedophilia and there's completely minimal chances of it ever escalating into pedophilia.

There is a chance that a pedophile could stumble onto fandom works (or actually be in fandom) and that is kind of skeevy to think about - but I'd like you to reflect on the fact that most people in fandom really suck at writing children. They also aren't getting off on the same things that real pedophiles get off on. Have you ever read the fantasies of a pedophile? I have, and I can tell you I've never once ran across any type of fandom porn online that resembles it.

I hesitate to make this comparison, but it's the best one I can think of - you know how people complain that slash is written for women, and not gay men? And that gay men wouldn't get off to a lot of the slash that's written? It's the same thing. Child porn in fandom is a completely fictionalized, fantasized deal that would have very little appeal to a pedophile. Because most people who write about children having sex in fandom are again, exploring specific characters and their libidos have completely different goals than a pedophile would. It shows in the writing.
