But, let me just get on the case of loli/shotacon. By definition, being a loli/shotacon is being attracted to under-age, innocent body types . But that doesn't make them a child molester. Just like a person with a rape fetish doesn't actually want to be rape or be raped. There's fiction and there's reality, and as long as they know the difference and NEVER act on it, then I don't judge. Especially when most of these self-proclaimed lolicons I know are purely attracted to anime versions (where its pretty purposely sexualized) and repulsed by any kind of real life children.
Its very, very easy to say "quit your fetish," but you have this assumption that people who are pedophiles CHOOSE to be turned on to what turns them on. Pedophilia is one of the few fetishes that one should NEVER act on, so all they really have is the fiction out there.
Maybe I feel strongly about playing devil's advocate here because some of the stupid "virtual children" logic they pull when some people got arrested for having manga or doujin of "under age girls".
