I'm sorry, anon :(

This could have been written by me. I was too young for Heroes when it first came out so I just started a month ago.

Newsletter with tons and tons of fandom backlog.

Heroes has been cancelled?

Well shit. Guess I better stop waiting for the next season to air...

where are you searching OP cause if it's pairing related, those comms are still active

[identity profile] angary.livejournal.com 2011-04-27 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
It's never too late, OP! As already said above, the newsletter is a fantastic place to start out. Then you've got Delicious (http://www.delicious.com/) where you can search for fic recs, and there are still SO many comms out there for pairings and challenges that are actually still updating - most of which you'll see on the newsletter - as well as a [livejournal.com profile] gqmf_heroes comm. There's also a podcast (http://www.heroespodcast.com/) still up that recapped episodes, discussed character and plot arcs, and interviewed show actors and writers, and a hilarious crack RP blog (http://www.burnttoastdiner.com/).

Aw, seeing your secret makes me miss being more involved in the fandom. I hope you enjoy what you find!

Heroes fandom was awesome in its heyday; I'm also sad I missed out on it.

The official messageboards are still fairly active, though: http://boards.9thwonders.com/

and seconding the [livejournal.com profile] ninth_wonders backlog. There's good stuff in there.

In this case I would have to say "don't bother;" that show will only break your heart. I've never seen a show take such a sharp nosedive and plummet in a great ball of flames so drastically. Ever. In my life. DDDD: Maybe just...stick with first-season stuff? :\

[identity profile] anivad.livejournal.com 2011-04-27 04:37 am (UTC)(link)
eh, YMMV. Different people seem to like/hate different seasons. I'm a fan of S1 and S4 and thought S3 was the worst; I know people who thought S3 was the best...

Though I think the OP was referring more to the fandom than the actual show, and Heroes fandom is one of the most epic I've ever witnessed from the relative-sidelines.

[identity profile] zenity.livejournal.com 2011-04-27 08:20 am (UTC)(link)
This forever. Season 1 was amazing and yeah idk

I'm still wondering where the heck is Molly and why Matt Parkman doesn't give a fuck anymore? lol

[identity profile] anivad.livejournal.com 2011-04-27 06:50 pm (UTC)(link)
They actually covered that (and a lot of other amazingness) in the graphic novel spin-offs and other multimedia spin-offs. which most people didn't read/know about, and it was kind of a terrible creative move. I wrote a research paper on this (on transmedia fandom in general, but focusing on Heroes as a case-study) and got an A. 8D

graphic novels: http://www.nbc.com/heroes/novels/novels_library.shtml?novel=3

They're a pretty good read, and reveal the extensive, complex backstory and worldbuilding of the Heroes universe; which makes it all the sadder that so much of that didn't make it to the screen, because while digging around that and the other stuff my mind was being repeatedly blown.
(...and then Sylar took my brain.)

Oh, Heroes fandom how I do miss you and your ridiculous (in a good way) ways.

[identity profile] leaffit.livejournal.com 2011-04-28 06:13 am (UTC)(link)
I feel bad for you anon. I'm not in the same place as you but I hear you.
