Oh fuck, thank you for making this secret.

When I was a little tiny anthropologist I couldn't get enough of Binns' class. I was seriously peeved (lol see wat i did there) at Harry & co for not appreciating fucking goblin riots and all the "part-human" magical creature tension inherent in the subject material. Binns might've sucked as a teacher, but remember, when the students engaged him he sometimes had the possibility to be interesting (see: Chamber of Secrets). So it wasn't all his fault.

You can bet if I was in there I'd have LOVE YOU painted on my eyelids like that stalker in Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Well, subject matter can be interesting without the class itself being interesting. I always imagined Binns as one of those annoying history teachers who just lectures directly from their notes and doesn't do anything to engage the class. Hermoine liked the class because she liked to read and could get lost in the subject material (which is why I always like history, it never had anything to do with the horrible teachers I had -- though luckily I got a few excellent history profs in college)
