bc they're a fucking idiot that thinks their desire to squee is mountains more important than anyone else's right to speak up about things that bother them? and they're buttmad as fuck at the thought that not everyone is just in fandom for the squee?


also they agreed with someone who posted a bunch of random slurs at the bottom of their secret to mock the people that are offended by them?

No one is being mean to me lol. I guess I worded my comment wrong.

I meant that the SJ police always show up and trash other people for "being mean" to the minorities. Like if a minority who is reading your comment is offended, they have the power to say something. They're obviously on the internet/have access to your thread, so they can fight for themselves. And the people who just get so intense over trying to protect minority groups from the Big Bads on the internet just ruin the squee for me.

Personally, if I have an issue with what you've said, I can address you. I don't need a whole threadful of people jumping all over you for it. And a lot of the time, it was a minor slip-up that someone didn't realize and then apologized for and people still go crazy on them. It's just tiring.

Yea, the qualification was my "I wouldn't have worded it this way" line.

I obviously don't think slurs are OK but there's a certain point at which you just have to step back and say "really? are we really arguing because they used this word over this word and it made one person mad?"

Obviously you shouldn't offend anyone consciously. But a conscious offense and the use of a particular word that's personally upsetting but not necessarily derogatory are two different things. For example, I don't like being called "African-American" and identify as "black" but I wouldn't rage on someone if they used the word in a thread. That's the kind of thing that frustrates me.

In the case that I am wrong in my assumption about the anons, then I don't get it either.
