I think I want to marry you. There is so much shit going on when it's about women, it seems like they can't do anything right.

Even the Disney princesses I used to love are being judged like that. I mean... Really?

This. It drives me crazy when I tell people that I love 'The Little Mermaid' and they go into a rant about how it's teaching little girls to change themselves for to get a man.

It makes me wonder just how stupid they think girls are.

Seriously. Who are these people who watched the movie and missed the part about how she wanted to live in the human world BEFORE meeting Eric? If anything, SHE was objectifying and fetishizing and exoticizing HIM as a connection to the world she wanted to be part of!

I just hate that Disney movies seem to be considered the be-all-and-end-all of "morals for children". Why can't people see them as silly little kids movies that kids will enjoy, but ultimately take nothing from? I don't know any woman has based her life of that of a Disney princess. Young girls might be impressionable, but by the time you're an adult you pretty much stop pretending to be a Disney princess and get on with life.

And Disney movies aren't the only form of media a child watches. I watched hundreds of cartoons and movies throughout my childhood- and many of them had a moral of some kind. So it's highly unlikely a kid is going to watch one Disney movie and forever be tainted.
