What? I don't get this. Sure those things give the person an advantage but a job's a job. They (presumably) still worked for that money.

Honestly, I don't even get why OP had to make it clear that it was THEIR OWN MONEY and not their parents. So what if someone's parents want to finance a trip to Europe for their children? That's horrible... because why?
