Not everyone can get it right when trying to address issues with female characters, but hopefully through these discussions people can learn to actually know what they're talking about. I can't say I always feel like examining how feminist/anti-feminist a work is, and a lot of the time even though I will see big problems in the handling of female characters in an episode of a show or something and be pretty bugged by it, I'm not always going to bring that up in my review of the episode because usually it has no impact on the actual quality of the episode and that's usually all I'm interested in talking about. That doesn't make me an enemy of feminism or mean I'm defending the writing from those kind of criticisms just by not always talking about them. Some fans are more involved in those subjects than others, just like some people are in it for shipping and others don't ship at all. You can ignore them, but it's good that these conversations are always being had, especially because a lot of people manage to miss the point and misunderstand the kind of common criticisms they're trying to use where it's not quite applicable.
