Yeah. I mean, can't we just write characters who are like people, if that makes sense? Not everyone is perfect and fits our ideal view of "what a human being should be like" (or rather, what a female character should be like). There are shallow people and there are deep people and there are people in between. There are feminists, there are misogynists, and there are people that are in between too. Weak, strong, passive, active ... One of my friends, had she been written into a story, would probably be criticized for being a "weak female character contributing to the oppression of her own sex" - but, hey, you know what? She's real. I would be a "boring female character", but I know others who would be "badass" and ... there are just so many different types of people and different types of characters. Not every character can be this idealized person - not every female character can be the poster child for feminism, because that's not what real people are like, especially when you consider that even most feminists aren't poster children for feminism either. =/
