idk. I consider a bad character a bad character and a good character a good character, regardless of gender.

Well, that's because bad stereotypes of males aren't really at risk to perpetuate oppression, since... males aren't oppressed. :|

Though it occurs to me now to think - you know what I never, ever see that I think I would like to see more of? Feminist critique of male characters. Male characters who act in misogynist ways or let their privilege go unchecked and are excused for that in-universe and in the narrative are disgustingly common, and yet nobody seems to think that's worth bothering with. It seems to be simply taken for granted that that's how shit is. I would like to see male characters' feminist or anti-feminist attitudes, and especially how they affect the women around them, examined more.

I mean, maybe everyone is right and it isn't a productive enough exercise to be worth expending words and energy on (that could be put toward slashfic, amirite?), but hey, at least it would be interesting.
