OP, nothing is ending. The only reason you feel like something is coming to a close is because you're letting yourself do so. The books will always be there. The movies will always be there. The characters and emotions will always be with you. And if you're talking about fandom, it may have slowed, but if the actual conclusion of canon in 2007 didn't kill it, the end of the movies (which aren't even a factor for many fans) aren't going to do so either.

I am going to be a little sad too when the last movie comes out, but I know that nothing is really going to change. A good book has no ending.

I try not to think about it too much. I haven't even seen any of the trailers in fear of being brought to tears or having the last HP film experience being ruined. I want to go into the movie as blindly as I can.

Well, at least there are a ton of conventions and the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and lots of other fan-related things that will continue on forever. :] And I'm sure JKR is not done with her world quite yet.

Plus I would be willing to bet in about ten or fifteen years someone will try to remake the movies. I think they should do it as a TV show so they can show absolutely everything.

Harry Potter was my first ever fandom. ;__; I know the fans and the fandom will always keep it alive, but it's going to be so weird with nothing else coming out. I'm going to be a fucking wreck when I go to the midnight premiere.

aww, a lot of us are feeling the same way. I've also cried. I started reading them when I was very young (young enough that I had to wait a couple years before my mum would let me read Goblet of Fire), so I kind of grew up with them...I'm so scared of it "ending."

It feels less like an ending for me. I read so much AU fanfic, particularly alternate year 6 or 7, for this fandom that there are so many alternate universes for me. Canon may already be over, but my Potter continues.

My biggest worry is that the fandom will shrink and that there will be no more AU fics. Because then it will be over for me.
