Not gonna lie, I am kind of confused by this secret.

He plays Clark Kent in Smallville (show about Superman as a teenager before he became Superman), ten seasons later and Clark has never flown in the show.

To be fair, he looks a LOT older compared to the way he looked at the beginning of the series. He was I think 24 then and is 34 now.

It's actually in his contract. Tom said he didn't want to do flying. Which is ironic considering he flew and took down a plane in the Season 5(?) opening.

They've shown that the character has the ability to fly, or alluded to it, since season 1, when he was supposedly a freshman in high school (LOL! If only the boys in my high school looked like that!)

The fact that a low budget show hasn't shown a man who has stated that he doesn't want to fly, actually flying ticks you off when a CARTOON trio does, wow.

Side note: 40 or not, he is one gorgeous man.

Never heard THAT excuse before. All I ever heard was that the show's original creators declared "no flights, no tights." A stupid rule.

What I recall reading in fandom is that Tom Welling didn't want to wear the suit, not that he didn't want to do flying. As you said, there have been scenes in the show where Kal/Clark was flying or pseudo-flying, so I'm not sure TW has something against flight. They also have shown Kryptonian characters like Kara and Zod flying (which makes Clark look lame in comparison). So I think, if they really wanted to do it, they do have the budget for flight, they just have to use it wisely.

All that said, I suspect the OP might just be kidding.

He should've been flying a long time ago. A long, LONG time ago. It's ridiculous how every single Kryptonian who comes to Earth, including an ARMY of Kandorians, can fly IMMEDIATELY with NO PROBLEM, but somehow they keep claiming that Clark has a "mental block."

HE CAN'T FLY?! I am many many seasons behind, but what the balls?! I thought that happened ages ago. Damn, son, get it together.
