Where I live (America, Maryland) there used to be a semi-anonymous message board to gossip about people at our schools. It actually got taken offline a little while ago after a slight shitstorm (it was called PeoplesDirt, though I doubt you've heard of it). So... it happens, sort of. Though the anonymous secret posting was about other people, not the posters themselves (usually).

I actually wanted to do this for my school awhile ago, too. But then I met with a bunch of legal brick walls and my teacher convinced me not to do it. It would only just become a gossip blog, not really worth it tbh :|

My school never had its version of F!S, naturally, but we do have something similar to Post Secret for a school trip. People just put up their secrets on a wall for some sort of bonding thing. I dunno.

The idea sounds nice, but it's actually just... depressing. It's not really entertaining to find out that everyone in your class is suicidal/has been raped/is being abused/other horrible things.

why in the world would you want to do that? it seems like the perfect platform for bullying. people totally behave nicely and don't post shit about people when they can do it anonymously, right? i mean, in fs, feelings get hurt. in the real world, vulnerable people who get dog-piled by their peers (that they actually have to interact with in the real world) often don't get away with just hurt feelings.

On the other hand, looking at the other comments... it's better for the horrible stuff to be known than to pretend that rape and abuse only goes on in places far from view.
